    Morning, dear friends!

Friday, May 16, 2008, 07:20 AM EST [General]

I got up extra early so I could write this… the days seem to get away from me lately, ha! I’ve had my sweet boy in the mornings all week and by the time he goes home I head to the garden and the woodland. This has been the nicest stretch of weather. I don’t do well in heat so these mild temps with abundant sunshine make my heart sing! I don’t want to miss a day of it… soon enough I will have to take refuge in the AC :(

Here’s the latest of aXavier… he’s just 3 mo. now and smiles and even giggles at his Aunties when they’re silly :P Lately… that’s most of the time, lol.

Amber gets her gall bladder out on this Tuesday coming… I sure hope it makes a difference. If you could keep her in thought, we’d be ever so grateful. Thanks!

So, yea… gardens are looking pretty fine, if I do say so myself. Not a lot of cash (actually none!) to spend but I’ve managed to collect a few goodies here and there. Time will tell if they take or not but Goddess is abundant in this valley so I’m not terribly worried. I did splurge on a few herbs that didn’t over winter and if I find a pot of Artemisia Vulgaris (mugwort/common wormwood variety) I’ll sell my oldest girl to get it, lol! Not sure why it’s scarce in the nurseries around here. It’s not an uncommon plant… it's actually considered an invasive weed here in the NE... go figure. I'll have to keep my eyes glued to the side of the road. Have shovel, will travel! I broke my trowel :(  All the house plants went outside this week and perked up almost immediately! I know how they feel :)

Well, that’s all the news fit to print. The rest is just 20 something drama… bleh. Goddess give me strength!

Blessing and full moon love to all!

Have a wonderful weekend... xxx ooo

Thank you so much. I really do love this plant and it will be nice to know what it is.
It looks prickly, but when you touch it, it's very soft and silky.
It also transplants well. I started one for my daughter from a piece of root I found, and it is growing by leaps and bounds. It is so hard to find plants that like our arid desert weather, that when I do find one that is different and pretty, it trills me no end.
    Blessings

Happy Friday Dear Lady! I have a question for you. I know very little about herbs that don't grow in our area and I need some help on finding out what this plant is. I bought it last year from Wal-Mart and the tag said it was wormwood. But I can't find any wormwood on the Internet that really looks like it. When I bought it, it was pretty small and last year it laid close to the ground and spread very fast. This year it seems to want to grow up and is getting buds. You seem to have quite a bit of knowledge about herbs and when I saw your blog on mugwort, I thought maybe you could help me. Thanks and I apologize for the long comment. Eileen Photobucket
